Recent NAKYO Events & Activities:
The NAKYO hosted another wonderful youth gathering on December 1st, 2007, this time at St. Thomas Knanaya Church in Clifton, New Jersey. We had a tremendous turnout with about 50 people in attendance. We credit this to having our officers located in all parts of the Northeast. We were honored with the presence of Mr. Toby Manimalethu who was the keynote speaker. We had two deep discussions with a third tie-up session at the end. In between there was lunch and a team building activity which helped us get to know all of the youth that attended. At the end of the day there was a performance by the Christian rap group Anonymous as well. Overall it was a very successful youth day and we hope for more great events like this one. On Saturday, August 11th 2007,
the North American Knanaya Youth Organization hosted a fantastic retreat for
both Knanaya Jacobite and Catholic young adults. The retreat was located at the
Knanaya Catholic Center in Rockland, New York. The Keynote speaker at the
function was Mr. Mathew Joseph (Mathachan Uncle) from Houston Texas, who flew
all the way to New York to help our youth get a better understanding of our
Bible and the Heavenly Father. In between Mathachan Uncle’s sessions were group
building activities and a performance by the talented Christian rap group
Anonymous. We were also blessed with the presence of our bishop, His Grace
Kuriakose Mor Gregorios, who spoke to the group and held a question and answer
session, in which the youth were encouraged to discuss what was on their minds.
Finally towards the end of the event, elections were held to choose new NAKYO
Board Officers. The retreat turned out to be a very successful event for the
Knanaya community and it showed, as the attendees left feeling a stronger
presence of the Lord within their lives. To see who are the new NAKYO officers,
please go to the "NAKYO BOARD OF OFFICERS" link above.

PAST NAKYO NEWS:
On Saturday, September 30th, 2006, NAKYO had a prayer retreat at the St. Thomas Knanaya Church in New Jersey. Although, around 30 teens attended the retreat, we were hoping for more participants. Our very gifted speaker was Toby Manimalethu of Detroit, MI, whose main focus of the day was "to help us prepare a life in eternity with God". The retreat was divided into sessions with the youth singing songs in between each session. Click NJ PRAYER RETREAT for more details of how the retreat went and pictures from the day!
The NAKYO recently hosted a wonderful summer picnic, which took place at the Garret Mountain Reservation in Paterson, NJ on Saturday afternoon, July 1st, 2006. The reservation was a great place to hold the BBQ and a assortment of various activities such as basketball, football, volleyball and frisbee. All who came had a good time and it helped gather the NAKYO Youth members from the close north east areas of CT, NY, PA, MA and NJ. Click HERE for NAKYO 2006 Picnic pictures!
The North American Knanaya
Youth Organization held its latest elections at the Knanaya Jacobite New Jersey

We are very proud of a group of young people from Boston's St. Stephen's Church, who were recently active in their area, by contributing their time for community service work. This group spent time working with the "Boston Cares Program" to build park benches that will be placed in the Blue Hills Reservation located in Massachusetts. They did a great service and we are very proud of their efforts!
On Saturday, August 28th, 2004, St.
Joseph's Church, Long Island, NY hosted their annual Church Picnic, which was
